An enjoyable, old-fashioned romance, a bit slow in spots. The plot was good but predictable. The characters were good. There were a few things that bothered me. At one time the hero opined that he thought if the sisters had been left behind at the Alamo, they could have defeated Santa Anna all by themselves. This was in questionable taste in my opinion as the father of the girls had died defending the Alamo less than a year before. Also I really, really got tired of hearing the phrase 'walking on clouds.' Once or twice, okay, but over and over it just became annoying. However, I did enjoy the story. It isn't one of my favorites by Ms. Brown, but was still very good.For those interested: No language or sexual situations to offend any readers.
This is the first book I've read, but I'm going to read the others in the series. The book moved along at a smooth pace and provided a delightful escape. The author changed point of view without warning a few times, and that was a bit confusing. However, once I grew used to it, it was fine. I thought the repetition about the sisters outrageous behavior a little over done. I kept reading about their abilities and stubbornness, but the repitition didn't detract from the fun of the story. Now on to the next one!
This story was a very interesting story. It seemed to pick up quite close to where the first book had ended Enough excitement to keep your interest.A book that you don't want to put it down. .
Oh my stars but this series is just the best, now I'm more than excited to read about Tempest and Micah.I'm telling you Carolyn you just have to write follow ups about each couple. But please when you do make them just as exciting and much longer.Another story well done.
I truly enjoyed the 3 book series .. the sister's along with the cousin;s made you wish you could have joined in their adventure..I adore most every book that Carolyn Brown has written.. She is one of those rare Authors that can tell a story and make you feel as if you are right there with the characters.. I will always suggest any book written by Carolyn Brown :)
The book was exciting, action, love, and touches of drama. The book kept you wondering about these sisters who were individuals that lived life, the way they saw it.
A quick read. Characters are fun. A nice romantic story written in a pure innocent way. Will read rest of the series.
I have read many of her other books and enjoyed them very much. This was not one of my favorites. I don't know if it was the time period it was written in or what. This won't stop me from reading other books written by her, just not anymore in this grouping.
